Jenn Gambatese is taking over from Sierra Boggess as Principal Rosalie Mullins in the Broadway production of School Of Rock.
Gambatese joins Andrew Lloyd Webber's musical at the Winter Garden Theatre on 9th August. Boggess plays her final performance on 8th August ahead of reprising her performance as Christine Daae in the French production of The Phantom of the Opera.
Gambatese originated the roles of Jane in Tarzan and Natalie in All Shook Up (both on Broadway) and played Glinda in the U.S. tour of Wicked. Her additional Broadway credits include Hairspray, Is He Dead?, A Year with Frog and Toad and Footloose.
School Of Rock is transferring to the West End later this year, opening at the New London Theatre on 14th November (previews from 24th October). Directed by Laurence Connor, the Broadway production opened in December 2015 starring Alex Brightman alongside Boggess. A U.S. tour is expected to launch in late 2017.
School of Rock has book by Julian Fellowes. The musical features music from the movie, as well as new music written by Lloyd Webber and lyricist Glenn Slater. Choreography is by JoAnn M. Hunter, with scenic and costume design by Anna Louizos, lighting design by Natasha Katz and sound design by Mick Potter.
