Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds extends West End booking

Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War of The Worlds has extended its upcoming West End run at the Dominion Theatre.

Produced by Bill Kenwright, the show will open on 17th February (previews from 8th February) and has extended for an extra three weeks to 30th April 2016.

The War of The Worlds transfers to London following many years of world arena tours. The iconic score is played live and conducted on stage by Jeff Wayne. Liam Neeson will appear as The Journalist as a 3D hologram.

Casting is yet to be announced. The most recent UK arena tour starred Joseph Whelan, Brian McFadden, Jason Donovan and Carrie Hope Fletcher (pictured) whilst Kerry Ellis appeared in a previous tour several years ago.

Both shocking and thrilling the world by exposing the flaws and hypocrisy of Victorian society with his futuristic thinking and alternate views, Wells unlocked a door into the future that took his readers on a unique adventure far away from the social constraints of 19th Century England.
