After discovering a dead dog, Christopher Boone decides that he will not rest until he has solved the mystery and unmasked the murderer. Christopher is exceptional at maths but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life; his perfectly innocent investigation throws up one or two hurdles and some shocking revelations.

Marianne Elliott's production invites the audience into the extraordinary mind of fifteen year old Christopher Boone. A piece of theatre which cannot be faulted in any field, Simon Stephens' adaptation of Mark Haddon’s famous novel is beautifully captivating throughout. As the storyline unravels you can't help but grow protective of Christopher who sees the world through such remarkable eyes.

Utilising all theatrical elements, I was so impressed that this touring production of Curious Incident is almost identical to its West End counterpart. The set, lighting, visual effects and movement choreography offer an insight into Christopher's brain; as well as being hugely entertaining, Curious Incident is also an educational piece - it is truly eye opening for people of all ages.

Joshua Jenkins gives a tremendous performance as Christopher; Jenkins doesn't stop from the word go, he never misses a beat and gives an incredibly detailed performance. Geraldine Alexander gives a stand out performance as Siobhan who narrates the story and builds a special friendship with Christopher. Elsewhere Stuart Lang and Gina Isaac give strong performances as Christopher’s parents.

Curious Incident triumphantly incorporates physical theatre and embraces technology to enhance the story it is telling. Curious Incident is the most incredible contemporary play, and it's thrilling to see such a high quality play being performed to sold out audiences around the UK.
