Carolyn Maitland to be special guest at Jacqueline Hughes' solo concert

West End Frame Understudy of the Year winners unite!

It has been announced that Carolyn Maitland will appear as a special guest at Jacqueline Hughes' upcoming sold out solo concert at Above The Arts.

Earlier this year Hughes won West End Frame's Understudy of the Year Award for standing by as Elphaba in the UK tour of Wicked whilst Maitland won the same award last year for understudying Ellen in the West End production of Miss Saigon. Produced by Sunday in the Arts, the concert will take place on Sunday 29th November 2015 at 2.30pm.

UPDATE (27/11/15): Hughes will also be joined by Lyndsey Gardiner (currently in The Phantom of the Opera) and Oliver Brenin (currently in Les Miserables).

Hughes is currently understudying Mrs Banks in the UK tour of Mary Poppins. Her theatre credits also include: 'Fairy Godmother' in Cinderella (DG1, Dumfries), lead vocalist in Mad About the Musicals (UK and Ireland tour), lead vocalist in A Song, a Sip and a Sandwich (Scottish venues) and 'Doreen' in The Steamie (UK tour).

Maitland recently returned to Miss Saigon to play Ellen full time. Earlier this year she starred as Kathy Selden in Singin' in the Rain (Kilworth House) and next year she will play Sally Bowles in a Scottish production of Cabaret. Maitland's credits also include: understudy Lilli Vanessi/Katherine in Kiss Me, Kate (Chichester/Old Vic), understudy Karen Holmes in From Here To Eternity (Shaftesbury), understudy Vivienne & Serena in Legally Blonde (Savoy), understudy Lucy Harris in Jekyll & Hyde (UK Tour), understudy Gabriella & Taylor in High School Musical 2 (UK Tour) and understudy Serena, Mabel & Miss Bell in Fame (UK Tour).
