Full casting announced for King Charles III UK tour

Full casting has been announced for the upcoming UK tour of King Charles III.

Joining the previously announced  Robert Powell as King Charles are: Penelope Beaumont, Jennifer Bryden, Richard Glaves, Dominic Jephcott, Lucy Phelps, Ben Righton, Giles Taylor, Parth Thakerar, Tim Treloar, Beatrice Walker and Paul Westwood.

Mike Bartlett's new play premiered at the Almeida Theatre before transferring to the West End. It is also opening on Broadway later this year.

The UK touring production opens at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre on 4th September 2015 and will then tour to: Richmond Theatre, Newcastle Theatre Royal, Nottingham Theatre Royal, Milton Keynes Theatre, Cambridge Arts Theatre, Canterbury Marlowe Theatre, Malvern Festival Theatre, Guildford Yvonne Arnaud, Edinburgh Festival Theatre, Bath Theatre Royal, Chichester Festival Theatre and Plymouth Theatre Royal. Click here for tour dates.

Directed by the Almeida Theatre’s artistic director Rupert Goold with Whitney MoseryKing Charles III is designed by Tom Scutt, music composed by Jocelyn Pook, with lighting by Jon Clark and sound by Paul Arditti.

Robert Powell is best known for playing Jesus in Jesus of Nazareth (which won him a BAFTA nomination for Best Actor) and as series regular Mark Williams in Holby City. His theatre credits include Singin' in the Rain (Palace Theatre), Ubu Roi and Pirates (both Royal Court), Travesties (RSC), Tovarich (Chichester Festival Theatre), and more recently touring productions of Doctor in the House and Jeffrey Bernard Is Unwell.
