EdFringe Review: Jack Rooke - Good Grief at Underbelly, Cowgate

Jack Rooke: Good Grief
Underbelly, Cowgate (Venue 61)
16:00 / 1 hour
Reviewed on Sunday 9th August 2015

Having co-written the show with his grandmother, in Good Grief Jack Rooke invites his audience to understand the taboo world of bereavement.

Rooke is immediately an interesting, open and kind young man who makes us feel safe in his hands. In a humorous and heartfelt manner he shares the painful truth about his father’s death. Good Grief is a roller coaster of a show... I laughed wholeheartedly, wept uncontrollably and even enjoyed a custard cream... what more could you want from a show?!

Using hilarious anecdotes along with images, video footage and audio we see inside bereavement and the impact it had on the Rooke household. Good Grief is unlike anything I have ever seen before. I don’t think anyone should go and watch this show, I think EVERYONE should go and experience it.
