EdFringe Review: Broken Windows at the Pleasance Courtyard

Featuring moments of stunning storytelling, Broken Windows is a raw piece of new writing about what it's like to be young and female in today's world. Matthew White has composed some highly effective tunes to accompany the piece which is based on verbatim interviews with teenagers from across the UK.

There are moments of glory, but at times Broken Windows feels like a work-in-progress. With some tweaking and further development the team could be on to something extremely powerful. Broken Windows could certainly work in schools, there is a good message behind the piece which I'm sure would speak volumes to certain people.

Going forward, Caitlin Ince and Matthew White should consider making the piece bolder. It only scratches the surface with some issues, but with a few changes it could be hugely hard-hitting. Whilst there is work to be done, Broken Windows is certainly worth a look,
