EdFringe Review: Back to Blackbrick at the Pleasance Courtyard

Patch of Blue's latest show is a beautifully hand-crafted piece for all the family. In Back to Blackbrick we meet a lovely Irish lad called Cosmo who's trying to manage at home with his granddad who has dementia. Cosmo takes the audience back in time and meets the younger more sprightly man his grandfather once was.

Accompanied by an inspiring original folk score this show has moments of pure magic. Patch of Blue give a masterclass in 'the ensemble' who connect on a very profound level from start to finish.

The use of physical theatre, the glorious singing and the intense focus all complement to the wonder and concentration of the production. Each and every member of the cast performs with tremendous honesty. Expect to laugh, cry and to have your eyes open; this show is the start of something special.
