The Olivier Award-winning production of Arthur Miller’s A View from the Bridge directed by Ivo van Hove will transfer to Broadway later this year.
The show will play a limited 18-week engagement, between 21st October 2015 and 21st February 2016 at the Lyceum Theatre.
Mark Strong (Eddie Carbone), Nicola Walker (Beatrice), Phoebe Fox (Catherine), Emun Elliott (Marco) and Michael Gould (Alfieri) will reprise their roles. Design and lighting is by Jan Versweyveld and costumes are by An D’Huys. Additional casting and creatives will be announced at a later date.
The production enjoyed two sold out runs in London - at the Young Vic in spring 2014 and in the West End earlier this year - and won three of the seven Olivier Awards it was nominated for: Best Revival, Best Director (Ivo van Hove) and Best Actor (Mark Strong). Van Hove and Strong also won the 2014 Critic’s Circle Awards in their respective categories.
The news follows last week’s announcement of the Young Vic’s A Streetcar Named Desire playing in the inaugural season at the new St. Ann’s Warehouse. Directed by Benedict Andrews and featuring Gillian Anderson, Ben Foster and Vanessa Kirby, the American premiere of this production of the Tennessee Williams masterpiece will run 23rd April – 22nd May 2016.
