Young Vic's A Streetcar Named Desire transferring to New York

The Young Vic’s fastest-selling show of all time, Benedict Andrews’ production of Tennessee WilliamsA Streetcar Named Desire will make its American premiere in the inaugural season of the new St. Ann’s Warehouse on the Brooklyn Waterfront.

The production will run in New York between 23rd April and 22nd May 2016. Tickets go on sale to St. Ann’s members from 5th June. Details of public on sale to follow. 

Gillian Anderson (Blanche DuBois), Ben Foster (Stanley Kowalski) and Vanessa Kirby (Stella Kowalski) reprise their roles for the New York run. 

Design for A Streetcar Named Desire is by Magda Willi with costumes by Victoria Behr, sound by Paul Arditti, music by Alex Baranowski and light by Jon Clark. The production originally ran at the Young Vic in London 23rd July – 19th September 2014. Anderson won the 2014 Evening Standard Theatre Award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Blanche Du Bois, and was nominated for an Olivier Award. The production was also nominated for Best Revival at the 2015 Olivier Awards.
