At last night's Tony Awards, special winner John Cameron Mitchell revealed that Hedwig and the Angry Inch is “definitely coming to the West End” whilst speaking to Broadway.com.
Cameron Mitchell said they are “trying to get the right person” to star in the show, cryptically revealing that the “person isn’t a Brit…but could very well be.”
Hedwig and the Angry Inch is a raucous musical comedy that tells the story of a fictional rock 'n' roll band, fronted by Hedwig, a transgender woman and “internationally ignored song stylist” from East Berlin.
The show won the 2014 Tony Award for Best Musical Revival. Taye Diggs will star in the Broadway production, taking over from Darren Criss, from 22nd July.
