Ceili O'Connor to perform solo show at the Above The Arts

Ceili O'Connor will debut her solo show The Understudy - Waiting in the Wings this summer at Above The Arts.

O'Connor has understudied some of the most iconic roles in musical theatre - including Eva Peron and Dorothy - but has never has the chance to play any of these roles in front of a live audience... until now. For one-night-only she will perform all the songs she has never had a chance to sing.

The evening will feature numbers such as 'Somewhere over the Rainbow' from The Wizard of Oz and 'Never Fall in Love With an Elf' from Elf The Musical, plus there will be a  few surprises along the way. The Understudy - Waiting in the Wings is directed by West End actor Scott Garnham and will feature special guests to be announced.

O'Connor can next be seen as Trude in Grand Hotel at the Southwark Playhouse. Her theatre credits include: understudy Jovie in Elf The Musical (Plymouth/Dublin), understudy Eva Peron in Evita (UK tour), Marty in Grease (Slovenia), Polly in Crazy For You (Upstairs At The Gatehouse), understudy Dorothy in The Wizard Of Oz (Palladium) and understudy Luisa in The Fantasticks (Duchess).
