The Theatre Royal Bath have announced full casting for the West End transfer of Hay Fever.
Lindsay Posner directs Noël Coward’s comedy of bad manners which first played the West End in 1925.
Starring the previously announced Felicity Kendal as Judith Bliss, the production opens at the Duke of York's Theatre on 11th May (previews from 29th April) and runs until 1st August 2015.
The cast also includes: Simon Shepherd (Peak Practice/The Duck House) as David, Michael Simkins (Yes, Prime Minister/Oh What a Lovely War) as Richard Greatham and Sara Stewart (Heartbreak House/Enron) as Myra Arundel.
The cast is completed by: Alice Orr-Ewing (Sorel Bliss), Edward Franklin (Simon Bliss), Celeste Dodwell (Jackie Coryton), Edward Killingback (Sandy Tyrrell) and Mossie Smith (Clara).
The Bliss family – recently-retired Judith, the once glittering star of the London stage; David, an egocentric novelist; and Sorel and Simon, their two Bohemian adult children – are incapable of sharing the spotlight.
Unconventional, risqué, and often downright rude, they are everything a respectable English family should not be. When each member of the family invites a guest to their rural retreat, the unassuming visitors are thrown into a living melodrama. Misjudged meetings, secret seductions and scandalous revelations proliferate during one outrageous weekend in Berkshire.
