GOSSIP: Matthew Warchus' film Pride being adapted into stage musical?

According to the Daily Mail, Matthew Warchus' film Pride could be adapted into a musical.

Baz Bamigboye reports that Warchus and writer Stephen Beresford have been "discussing the possibility". Warchus said, "We would have to guard against it being too sentimental - or too over the top."

Bamigboye stresses that Pride may never make it to the stage; however, if it does it won't be until late 2016 or 2017.

The film's stellar cast includes: Dominic West, Faye Marsay, Freddie Fox, George MacKay, Andrew Scott, Imelda Staunton and Bill Nighy. Pride recently won Best Movie at the British Independent Film Awards and received a Golden Globe nomination.

Based on a true story, Pride follows a group of lesbians and gays who decide they want to raise money to help families affected by the 1984 miners' strike. Naming themselves 'Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners', the group soon struggle to find a union and community to support as it seems nobody wants to be associated with them.
