Bill Kenwright is a very busy man! As well as producing a new production of Jesus Christ Superstar and a new musical called The Glenn Miller Story, it has been revealed that he will also produce a new touring production of The Sound of Music next year.
Martin Connor will direct the show with choreography by Bill Deamer, design by Gary McCann and musical direction from David Steadman.
The musical will run at the Churchill Theatre in Bromley between 15th and 17th January before visiting the Mayflower Theatre in Southampton between 19th and 31st January. Further dates and casting are yet to be announced.
This new production of the classic stage musical coincides with the 50th Anniversary of the film version which famously starred Julie Andrews. The score features 'Edelweiss', 'My Favorite Things', 'Do-Re-Mi' and 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain'.
