This Christmas the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre have staged Sleeping Beauty starring ex-Eastenders actress Anita Dobson. Featuring panto at its very best, Sleeping Beauty provides plenty of laughs for all the family. The show is a perfect introduction to theatre and of course there are a few jokes thrown in the adults.

Andy Collins plays Chester the Jester, cracking jokes throughout. Collins has great chemistry opposite Graham Kent as Nurse Molly Coddle who showcases some outrageous costumes as the traditional panto dame.

Dobson, who plays the Wicked Witch Carabosse, performs with feeling and gives a strong performance, inviting the audience to boo louder and louder. She didn’t look bad in a tutu either! There was one hilarious reference to Anita Dobson’s husband Brian May which was swiftly followed by the famous Eastenders doof doofs.

Prince Antonio, played by Christian Lund, also impresses with his smooth vocal talents. The cast is completed with child performers appearing alongside the ensemble, all of whom are excellent.

If you love a good panto, make sure you catch Sleeping Beauty at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre
