Kimberley Walsh, who recently starred as Princess Fiona in the West End production of Shrek The Musical, has revealed that she would like to return to the West End. During a recent interview with The Sun Newspaper Kimberly explained that her recent stint on Strictly Come Dancing has reignited her love for live stage performances.
"I've always loved musical theatre but Shrek unleashed the passion in me again," she said. "I do really feel like a lot of the things I've learned on Strictly Come Dancing will come in handy. I would definitely consider being in the West End more in the future."
Since finishing Strictly Come Dancing as the runner up, Kimberly has been busy working on her musical theatre themed debut solo album, Centre Stage, which is due for release in February. While talking about the album Kimberly said "It comprises songs from the musicals reworked and brought into this century. It's turned out really well and I feel really inspired and hopefully it'll be a success. I felt like I'd done so much work with my voice as well - so I want to be able to showcase it."
Centre Stages features duets with Ronan Keating (who Kimberly duetted with at this years Olivier Awards) and Louise Dearman (who is currently playing Elphaba in Wicked).
Centre Stage is due for release on 4th February 2013.
